1. Who We Are
WealthPulse is an iOS application operated by the WealthPulse team ("we", "us", or "our"). The app is available on the Apple App Store and is designed to help individuals track their investment portfolios, cryptocurrency holdings, budgets, and overall net worth. 2. Our Core Privacy Principle
WealthPulse is built on a privacy-first foundation. We do not operate any servers that store your personal financial data, your portfolio holdings, your transaction history, your budget entries, or any other data you enter into the app. All information you provide is stored exclusively on your device and, if you enable it, within your personal iCloud account — which is governed by Apple's own privacy policy. We have no access to this data whatsoever.
No account registration is required to use WealthPulse. You can use the app fully and immediately without providing us any personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number.
3. What Data We Collect
Because all application data is stored locally on your device and in your personal iCloud, we collect no personal data on our servers. Specifically, we do not collect, transmit, or store:
Your portfolio holdings, stock or cryptocurrency positions, transaction history, budget entries, income records, net worth figures, or any other financial data you enter into the app. All of this data resides solely on your device's local storage and, if iCloud sync is enabled, within your own Apple iCloud account.
The only technical interactions our app has with external services are to fetch publicly available market data — specifically, the current prices of stocks, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies. These requests do not include any personally identifiable information about you.
4. What Apple Collects
When you purchase a WealthPulse subscription through the App Store, the payment is processed entirely by Apple Inc. We receive only a confirmation that a purchase has been completed; we never receive your payment card details, billing address, or any other payment information. Apple's handling of this data is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
Apple may also collect anonymised, aggregated analytics data about app crashes and performance through their standard App Store analytics framework. This data, if collected by Apple, is subject to Apple's privacy terms and is not tied to your personal identity.
5. Third-Party APIs and Services
WealthPulse uses two third-party APIs to retrieve publicly available market price data:
CoinGecko — used to retrieve current cryptocurrency prices and market data. When the app requests data from CoinGecko, it sends only the ticker symbols of the assets you have added (for example, "BTC" or "ETH"). No personal information, account identifiers, or device identifiers are transmitted to CoinGecko. CoinGecko's privacy policy governs their handling of any request data.
Yahoo Finance — used to retrieve current stock, ETF, and commodity prices, as well as currency exchange rates. When the app requests data from Yahoo Finance, it sends only the ticker symbols of the securities you have added (for example, "AAPL" or "VOO") and currency pairs for exchange rate conversion. No personal information, account identifiers, or device identifiers are transmitted. No API key is required for these requests.
Neither of these services receive any information that could identify you as an individual.
When background refresh is enabled, these same API requests are made periodically (configurable between 30 minutes and 2 hours) while the app is in the background, to check for price alert triggers. The same privacy protections apply — only ticker symbols are transmitted, with no personal information.
6. Your Rights Under GDPR and Similar Laws
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction that provides data subject rights, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and export your personal data. Because WealthPulse stores all your data locally on your device, you exercise these rights directly within the app:
Access and Portability: You can export all of your financial data at any time by going to Settings → Export Data and selecting CSV format. This provides you with a complete, machine-readable copy of all data stored in the app.
Rectification: You can edit any entry — holdings, transactions, budget records, net worth items — directly within the app at any time.
Erasure: You can permanently delete all data stored by WealthPulse by going to Settings → Delete All Data. This action is irreversible and will remove all your financial data from the app. To also remove data from iCloud, delete the app from your device and remove its iCloud data from your iPhone's Settings → iCloud → Manage Storage.
Because we hold no data on our servers, there is no need to submit a formal data subject access request to us. All of your data is already fully under your control on your own device. If you have questions about these rights, please contact us at privacy@wealthpulseapp.com.
7. Data Retention
We hold no personal data on any WealthPulse servers, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our end. Your data persists on your device for as long as the app is installed and you have not deleted it. If you uninstall the app, all locally stored data is removed from your device. If you use iCloud sync, data remains in iCloud until you delete it through Apple's iCloud management tools.
8. Children's Privacy
WealthPulse is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information in connection with our app, please contact us at privacy@wealthpulseapp.com and we will take appropriate steps to address the situation.
9. Security
Because your data is stored on your device and optionally in your personal iCloud account, its security depends on the security measures you have in place for your device and Apple ID. We strongly recommend using a strong device passcode and enabling Face ID or Touch ID. WealthPulse supports Face ID / Touch ID as an additional lock layer within the app itself, accessible from Settings → App Lock.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the app, applicable laws, or our practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and note the change in the app's release notes on the App Store. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of WealthPulse after a change to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
